Samsung And Acer Chromebooks Now Available

Chromebooks have been the talk of the town over the last few weeks, and now some folks have already gotten their hands on Acer Chromebooks and Samsung Chromebooks, thanks to an early sale at Gilt, but everyone else can now finally get their order in at a couple of more traditional sources: Best Buy and Amazon.

Samsung Chromebooks are now available fopr only $430. It is available in both white and silver starting and that also includes Acer’s Chrome OS-based offering, which is now known as the Acer Cromia that costs $380 for the WiFi-only model. Neither retailer (Best Buy and Amazon) is quoting a ship date just yet, but Google’s previously stated that they’ll be rolling them out on June 15th.

The Samsung Chromebook Series 5 features a 12.1 inch LCD display, and is powered by an Intel Atom N570 1.66GHz processor. It comes with HD web camera and a 16GB SSD, and is available in WiFi and WiFi/3G models.

The Acer Chromia Chromebook features an 11.6 inch LCD display, and is powered by an Intel Atom N570 processor and therte is also 2GB of RAM. Other features include a 1.3 megapixel camera, stero speakers, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port. Available in two models, a WiFi only model and a WiFi and 3G model.
